Greater Noida West: Residents of Radicon Society have been suffering from a severe power outage for more than 48 hours. There has been a severe power outage in this society located in Greater Noida West, Sector 16C Gaur City-2 since 4 am, May 31, 2024.
‘Gross negligence of the builder and maintenance team’
On May 30, 2024, the generator also stopped working, after that the residents of the society gathered at the main gate and started expressing their anger against the builder. No satisfactory answer is being received from the builder. The residents of the society are upset due to the gross negligence of the builder and the maintenance team.
‘500 residents: 1 generator’
Residents informed Apartment Times that 500 families live in the society but there is only one generator which is supplying power to 500 flats, the load of which the generator is unable to bear and the generator is shutting down repeatedly since the builder has installed an old generator he managed from somewhere. All the nearby societies are getting electricity but there is no electricity in Vedantam Society.
‘Household items are getting spoiled’
Suffering from heat waves and no power, the women of the society attacked the site office of the builder. They say that the maintenance team is getting the ACs shut down in our homes, whereas three ACs are running in the site office which is lying vacant. Residents also alleged that the builder has taken less load from NPCL and is earning money by selling 4 times the load to society residents, due to which electricity trips frequently and household appliances also get damaged.
Umesh, a resident of the society says, “It was so hot at night and generator was also not working. Many society residents whose relatives lived in nearby societies sat in their cars and went to their relatives’ houses along with their children.”
‘Residents of Vedantam Society are quite upset’
Annu Khan, President, of Nefoma says, “The society is incomplete and work is also going on at the site. The builder has taken less load from NPCL, there is only one old generator due to which it is not possible to work on the project and provide electricity to the society. We have been talking to the builder for three years. Many meetings were also held in Greater Noida Authority but the builder is turning a deaf ear. Residents of Vedantam Society are really upset. It is an appeal to the Authority, RERA, and NPCL that the builder should be audited and the residents should get justice.
