Google permits playlist sharing from YouTube Music to Apple Music: How-to | Tech News

Users can now move their music playlists from YouTube Music to Apple Music thanks to a tool that Google recently released. Users can now share a duplicate of their playlists with other music streaming services, according to a Google support document. However, the only platform that supports this feature at the moment is Apple Music. Apple Music members can now move their playlists to YouTube Music, the company announced earlier this week.

This is not the first time Apple and Google have collaborated; in the past, they have cooperated on data transfer features. Through the Data Transfer Initiative, both businesses provide direct photo transfers between Google Photos and iCloud Photos (DTI).

What can move from YouTube Music to Apple Music

According to Google, the only playlists that can be moved are those that people have made. You are not able to port other users’ saved playlists. Moreover, moving a playlist is a one-time process; any modifications made to the playlist on Apple Music or YouTube Music following the transfer won’t be mirrored on the other service.

Playlists: Syncing YouTube Music with Apple Music

Make sure you have an active Apple Music membership before starting the transfer.

Go to myaccount.dashboard.google.com.

Navigate to “Other Google services” or “Recently used Google services.”

Choose “Transfer Data” when you reach the YouTube option by scrolling down.

After selecting the data you want to copy, click Proceed.

From the drop-down menu, choose Apple Music as your destination, then click Proceed.

To link your accounts and move your playlists, follow the instructions.

You must authorise Google Takeout and log into your Apple Music account. You will receive an email with a link to find your playlists in Apple Music after the transfer is finished.

Playlists being moved to different music services

Google recommends using third-party services to export YouTube playlists, albums, artists, and tracks to platforms that do not have native compatibility, according to its support manual. TuneMyMusic and Soundiiz are two third-party services that are suggested.
