Noida: The dream of owning a perfect home has turned into a nightmare for hundreds of families living in Gardenia Gateway Society. Despite spending lakhs to purchase flats, residents now find themselves surrounded by mounting civic issues, a negligent builder, and an unresponsive authority.

Major issues plaguing society

Located in Sector 75, Gardenia Gateway was envisioned as a modern, well-equipped housing project. However, reality tells a different story:

Incomplete construction: Several towers are still unfinished. Work has either halted midway or never begun. Residents allege they were promised possession in 2013, but as of 2025, over 500 families are still facing incomplete facilities and infrastructure.

Filthy and unsafe premises: Images show a water tank and common areas that are either neglected, dirty, or potentially hazardous.

Lack of maintenance: Basic amenities such as lifts, security systems, and fire safety measures are either non-functional or missing entirely.

Waterlogging and sewage problems: Poor drainage leads to regular waterlogging. Stagnant water in the premises is not only unhygienic but also a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Unfinished clubhouse and facilities: Promised luxury features, including the clubhouse, park, and swimming pool, are either in poor condition or still under construction.

Residents Voice Anguish

Multiple residents spoke out about their frustration:

We paid the full amount with the hope of a secure home. Its been over 1.5 crore rupees, yet we are living in unsafe conditions.

Ved Prakash Singh, Senior Citizen

The sewage system is faulty, waterlogging is frequent and no one is listening to our complaints.

Rakesh Kumar, Resident

Our tower lift is non-functional half the time, kids and the elderly suffer daily. Builder is untraceable and Noida Authority is silent.

Rajesh Mishra, Resident

Who is Responsible?

According to residents, the responsibility squarely lies with both the builder and the Noida Authority. The builder allegedly collected maintenance charges and full flat payments but failed to complete work. Despite repeated complaints, the Noida Authority has not taken any strict action.

We recently held a meeting with all residents to discuss our next steps. Legal recourse and protests are being considered.

Devina Kaushik, Resident

Letters have been sent to the authority, but no inspection or resolution has happened. We are left to fend for ourselves.

Sudeep Shrivastava, Secretary
