Greater Noida West : The long-running dispute over the Apartment Owners’ Association (AoA) at Galaxy Vega, Greater Noida West, has finally culminated in the successful conduct of elections, bringing relief and a sense of closure to residents. The AoA elections were held peacefully and transparently on Sunday, December 21, 2025, marking a significant milestone after nearly a year of controversy and sustained resident-led efforts.
As reported earlier, the tenure of the Galaxy Vega AoA had expired on January 7, 2025. Despite this, the previous office bearers continued in their positions for almost a year without holding elections, a move residents consistently described as unlawful. During this extended period, elections were repeatedly deferred despite explicit directions from the Registrar’s office. No Annual General Meeting (AGM) was convened and agreements allegedly favouring the builder were signed without the consent of the general body, further intensifying dissatisfaction within the society.
When vigilant residents organised themselves and demanded accountability, the election process was eventually initiated. However, fresh irregularities surfaced when the names of 222 valid residents were removed from the voter list.
Even officials appointed by the Registrar were misled during this phase. After nearly two months of persistent representations and submission of evidence before the Election Officer, it was established that the deletions were illegal. The subsequent restoration of all 222 names paved the way for the formal announcement of the election schedule.

The process was overseen by Election Officer Viveka Singh, Assistant Commissioner and Assistant Registrar (Cooperative), along with Alok Ranjan Singh and Mohammad Haseeb. Following the conclusion of the elections, residents expressed relief and optimism, describing the process as a victory for democratic values and collective action. Many residents also extended their gratitude to the election officials for ensuring that the elections were conducted strictly as per rules, with full transparency and without any disturbances. With a new AoA now in place, residents hope that Galaxy Vega Society will move towards accountable, resident-centric governance, leaving behind a turbulent chapter marked by legal disputes and administrative irregularities.
