Noida : In the September 2024 elections, two teams of 5 members each were elected, resulting in a deadlock. DR authorized former office bearers to manage day-to-day expenses and appointed an observer, Sahayak Aayukt/Sahayak Nibandhak, to conduct a GBM for selecting office bearers, which is against the bylaws.
DR ordered GBM for office bearer elections
According to our bylaws, residents vote for members, and members elect office bearers. However, DR ordered GBM for office bearer elections, which is like election after election. So far, 4 observers have been appointed, and most agree that office bearers cannot be selected in GBM as it’s against the bylaws.
‘DR is not willing to understand‘
The observer Sahayak Aayukt/Sahayak Nibandhak reported that according to the bylaws, office bearers can only be selected by the board from among its members. Most elected members also disagreed with GBM, but DR was not willing to understand as per the information given by the residents.
Jila Viklang Adhikari refused to handle the matter
As per the information recived, the DR appointed Jila Viklang Adhikari, Jila Matsya Adhikari and Jila Samaj Kalyan Adhikari, but they all approached the matter differently. Jila Viklang Adhikari refused to handle the matter due to its contradiction with the bylaws. Jila Matsya Adhikari was removed by DM Manish Verma Ji for being aligned with one team and not working according to the bylaws.
Now, Jila Samaj Kalyan Adhikari has met all 10 elected members and is also in favour of conducting fresh elections since the current board has only 2 months left.
We request DM Sir to intervene and ask DR to conduct fresh elections. Office bearers cannot be elected in GBM as our bylaws’ Clause 18 clearly states that office bearers can only be selected by the board from among its members. Additionally, our society has varying voting percentages based on flat sizes, and 531 members’ voting cannot be represented by 50 people attending GBM. Over 100 members have submitted applications multiple times for fresh elections, but DR is ignoring their demands.
Nikhil Singhal, Resident, Eldeco Aamantran
The residents of the society alleges that what’s the point of appointing observers if they’re continually ignoring all observer reports? Elected members Nikhil Singhal and Rishi Purwar are now planning to write to DR that they’re not willing to continue as Acting President and Acting Vice President and will request DR to conduct fresh elections. We urge DM Sir to intervene and ask DR to conduct fresh elections, which would be in the best interest of our society.
