Students from Ryan International School Join Ward 11A Residents in Environmental Initiative

Noida: In a commendable step towards environmental conservation and community participation, children from Ryan International School, Sector 39, Noida, joined residents of Ward 11A, Arun Vihar, for a tree plantation drive aimed at creating a greener neighbourhood and helping reduce the persistent foul smell caused by a nearby drain and an open urinal.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Ward 11A Management Committee under the leadership of WD Brig. Pankaj Mehra. Around 30 students from Classes 9 and 10 participated enthusiastically in the plantation drive, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and civic responsibility.

The event was organised by Ward 11A Environment and Horticulture Member Preeti Das, who encouraged the young participants to contribute towards building a cleaner and healthier ecosystem.

The students planted saplings along the stretch affected by the foul odour, with active support from residents of the ward.

Speaking on the occasion, Preeti Das said, “These children didn’t wait for someone else to solve this old persistent problem that has been a health hazard for many they stepped up themselves.”

Residents expressed hope that the growing greenery will gradually help reduce the unpleasant smell while improving the area’s environment. At the same time, they urged the Noida Authority to take permanent measures to address the long-standing issue of the polluted drain and the open urinal, which continue to impact the quality of life in the locality.

Adding to the community’s commitment, the Ward 11A Gardeners’ Group has pledged to nurture the newly planted saplings
