CEO strict on negligence in cleaning and maintenance: Cleaning staff service terminated, contractor blacklisted, and officers’ salaries withheld

Noida | Krishna Karunesh, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida Authority, conducted a whirlwind inspection of various areas in the city today with the intention of streamlining city operations. During the inspection, upon finding serious deficiencies in the cleaning system and laxity in development work, the CEO adopted a strict stance and issued on-the-spot orders for suspension, salary withholding, and hefty fines.

During the inspection, the Authority’s General Manager (Civil) along with senior managers of various work circles and concerned officers were present.

Crackdown on negligence: Termination and blacklisting
The CEO adopted a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against those compromising the city’s beauty and cleanliness:

Sector-8 and Sector-57/60: Upon discovering heaps of debris here, immediate orders were given to terminate the services of the concerned cleaning staff and supervisors. In addition, the Junior Engineer (JE) was ordered to have their salary withheld for responsibility determination.
Sector-63: Stringent action was taken upon finding a large quantity of garbage in the drain. The cleaning workers and supervisors here have been removed, and the manager has received a severe warning.

Emphasis on the city’s infrastructure and beautification
During the inspection, several important decisions were made to improve basic amenities:

Vending Zones: Instructions were given to start working on the possibilities of developing organized ‘vending zones’ on top of large drains after covering them.
Connectivity and Footpaths: Ordered to connect pathways by installing precast slabs over the drain near Sector-11 Market, improve road connectivity near Sector-55 and Radisson Blu, and beautify roads near Fortis Hospital (Sector-62).
Expressway: Immediate repair of the damaged service road on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway has been asked for.

Action on Encroachment and Public Facilities
Illegal Occupation: Instructions were given to carry out a campaign to remove illegal encroachments in Gram Barola and green belt areas.
Wedding Halls and Gaushalas: Survey of all wedding halls in the city will be conducted and plans for their renovation will be made. Additionally, stray cows from Khoda and Sector-62 areas are to be shifted to gaushalas.
Traffic Ease: All ‘left turns’ in the city are to be made obstacle-free and easy to navigate. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the bus stop will also be ensured.

Strict Deadline for Officers
The Chief Executive Officer made it clear that all work circles must complete the garbage collection process compulsorily by 10 a.m. every day. He warned the officers that if dirt or maintenance deficiencies are found during future inspections, the accountability of the concerned senior officers will be determined.
