Greater Noida West: Just months after a woman was crushed to death by a speeding truck on the Gaur City 2 main road, the stretch continues to pose a serious threat to lives due to administrative negligence and unsafe road conditions. The accident, which occurred on the busy arterial road connecting 14th Avenue to Gaur City 1, left the woman dead on the spot while her husband sustained critical injuries. Shockingly, no effective corrective measures have been implemented since then.
Schools on both sides, Safety on none
The situation is especially alarming as Manthan School and Gaur International School are located on opposite sides of this road. Despite heavy pedestrian movement, children, parents, elderly residents and women, the road lacks basic traffic-calming infrastructure.
Residents say that speed breakers in front of both schools have been broken for a long time, allowing vehicles to zoom past at full speed throughout the day.

The road remains constantly congested, serving as a lifeline for multiple societies in Gaur City 2. With no functional speed breakers, crossing the road has become a daily gamble for pedestrians.

- Elderly residents struggling to cross the road safely

The recent fatal accident has left the community shaken, yet residents fear it may not be the last if urgent action is not taken.
A question authorities must answer
How many more lives will be put at risk before basic road safety measures are restored? Residents are demanding immediate repair of speed breakers, clear road markings, warning signboards, and speed enforcement, especially near school zones. Until then, the Gaur City 2 main road remains a death trap waiting to claim its next victim.
Authority acknowledges hazard
When contacted, Greater Noida Authority official Prabhat Shankar acknowledged the danger posed by the road.
