Bomb threat email sent to Shiv Nadar School in Noida, Police and Bomb Squad conduct thorough search

Noida: Panic gripped the area after Shiv Nadar School, one of Noida’s prominent educational institutions, received a bomb threat via email on Friday. The school administration immediately informed the police, following which security agencies rushed to the spot and launched a thorough search operation inside the campus.

Threat received rhrough email

According to sources, the email sent to the school contained a threat of a bomb blast. Considering the seriousness of the message, the police took no chances and initiated all precautionary measures without delay.

Police, Bomb squad and dog squad deployed

Soon after the alert, teams from the Noida Police, Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad, Fire Brigade and BDDS were deployed at the school premises. The entire campus was cordoned off and checked meticulously. As of the time of filing this report, no suspicious object has been found.

Students safely sent home

Prioritising student safety, the school administration decided to send all students home through school buses. School Principal Anju Soni appealed to parents to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities. She also instructed the bus staff to stay alert and remain in constant communication.

Similar threat emails reported across India

It is noteworthy that similar bomb threat emails have reportedly been sent to several private schools in different cities, including Ahmedabad. Authorities are also viewing this as a possible cyber threat or an attempt to spread panic.

Cyber team probing the email

According to the Noida Police Commissionerate’s media cell, the cyber team has begun a technical investigation to trace the origin of the threatening email and identify the sender.

Police assure normalcy

The police have stated that the situation is fully under control, law and order is normal and citizens are advised not to pay attention to rumours.
