Noida: There will be a blackout in Gautam Buddha Nagar from 9 pm to 10 pm tonight, but it will be applicable only at sensitive and important places already identified by the government. The district administration has clarified that there is no need for the general public to panic, and the blackout is being done only as a mock drill.

As per the guidelines received from the government, this blackout will be done at some special areas in the district like NTPC located in Greater Noida and other important places. At the same time, no clear instructions have been received from the government for the Noida area. If any order is received, then a blackout mock drill will be done there as well.

This is a wartime exercise, in which electricity of the entire area is cut off so that no enemy gets any indication of any kind of activity. At this time, avoid using candles, mobile torches and generator lights outside the house.

The district administration has appealed to all Apartment Owners Associations (AOA) and Residential Welfare Associations (RWA) to ensure blackout as per the government guidelines. The administration has also warned that unauthorized blackouts can lead to accidents or other unpleasant situations.
