GreaterNoida : A late-night incident in Greater Noida chi 5 has triggered fresh concerns over construction quality in high-value residential properties. A woman, identified as Sonam Singh, alleged that a portion of her balcony ceiling suddenly collapsed around 2 am while she was inside her flat.
In a video that has now gone viral on Instagram, Singh documented the aftermath, showing chunks of concrete scattered across her balcony. She claimed that the flat, valued at approximately ₹1 crore, comes with a monthly rent of ₹28,000.
Bhai, is flat ka abhi rent hai 28,000 aur is flat ka price hai 1 crore aur ye construction pe hume kya de rahe hai. I heard a sudden loud noise when I was in room late night. Upon checking the balcony, I found a significant portion of the ceiling had fallen.

Sonam Singh also demonstrated how the concrete crumbles in her hand, saying, “Isko main aapko haath se todh ke dikhati hoon… dekhiye, yeh concrete haath se hi toot ja raha hai. Ye hai construction yahan ka.”
The video has since sparked widespread debate online over construction quality and tenant safety in high-rent flats across the city. Users on Instagram reacted strongly, expressing shock and concern over the apparent poor construction quality.
Many questioned how such a collapse could occur in a flat valued at ₹1 crore, while others shared similar experiences from their own apartments. Some users also responded with humour, pointing to the irony of paying ₹28,000 rent for a flat where concrete can be broken by hand.
One user quipped, “Mistry cement lagana bhul gaya hai.” Another wrote, “It was very risky, man!!! God saved you.” A third commented, “1 crore k flat mein 10 rupee ka nimbu mirchi laga lo kirpa ani shuru hojayegi.” Another added, “It was very scary.”
Several users also urged the resident to disclose the name of the society in the comments section, demanding greater transparency and accountability. The incident has intensified concerns around builder accountability and structural safety, with growing calls for stricter inspections in residential societies across Greater Noida.
