Noida : Amrapali Zodiac society resident Joginder Singh has issued a public appeal to all residents to gather at 7 PM near Gate No. 1 for a candle march / mobile-light march inside the society premises.
The march aims to “wake up the sleeping AOA” and demand urgent action against the spiralling stray dog menace, which residents say has reached “2020-level terror” once again.
Stray dog crisis returns after earlier successful control
Residents claim that the situation inside the society has deteriorated sharply over the past year.
According to Singh and several long-term residents:
On July, 15, 2021, a dedicated stray dog feeding zone was created outside the society gate.
Following strict enforcement of the Animal Cruelty Act, feeding of stray dogs inside the society premises was completely banned.
As a result, the stray dog population reportedly dropped from 123 to just 14 by January 2023.
From March 2022 to January 2023, only three bite incidents were recorded because the number of stray dogs inside the society had drastically reduced.
Residents allege that subsequent AOA bodies “showed leniency,” especially on the issue of feeding dogs within the society, which led to a rapid resurgence of stray dog numbers. Today, residents claim the figure has crossed 80 dogs inside the premises, leading to fear, attacks, and unsafe common areas.
AOA must enforce 2021 rules again
Residents Demand
The key demands ahead of candle march include:
Reinstate strict enforcement of the 15 July 2021 feeding-zone rule
100% ban on feeding stray dogs inside the society premises.
AOA to take firm action as per the Animal Cruelty Act, including FIRs against violators.
Restore safety measures to ensure the protection of children, women, senior citizens, and residents who move through basements, lifts, parks, and corridors.
Stray dogs have now begun entering upper floors of towers, creating a frightening and unacceptable safety hazard.
Residents
Threat call received from overseas, alleges resident
Joginder Singh alleges that immediately after the candle march announcement, he received a threatening call from Texas, USA. He also gave us the recording, which was full of abusive words.
Such intimidation will not deter residents from demanding safety and people who create fear or obstruct lawful citizen action are no different from those spreading chaos.

Final appeal to all residents
Singh has urged all families, including women, seniors, and young children, to join the peaceful march on November 22:
This is about the safety of our children, our mothers, our sisters, and our seniors. अगर अब कार्रवाई नहीं हुई, तो फिर कभी नहीं।
