Greater Noida West: Residents of Ace City, Greater Noida West Society held a meeting with AOA and demanded a reduction in the rate of electricity units. Residents say that NPCL gives a 10 per cent regulatory discount on the total bill, residents should also get its benefit.
NPCL charges a rate of 6.30 per unit
Societies in Greater Noida West have power supply from NPCL. NPCL charges electricity bills from all societies at the rate of Rs 6.30 per unit. As per the order of the Regulatory Board, it also gives a 10 per cent regulatory discount on the bill for the whole month. At the same time, different society managements charge electricity bills from their residents at different rates.

Residents namely Upendra Kumar, Vijay Singh etc met AOA officials and asked to reduce the rate of electricity units by 10 percent. Residents say that the society is charging Rs 6.62 instead of NPCL’s unit rate of Rs 6.30. At the same time, NPCL is giving a 10 per cent regulatory discount on the bill of the entire society, but the residents are not getting the benefit of this discount. If this discount is given to the residents, then the monthly bill of the residents will be reduced by 10 per cent. Thousands of residents of the society will benefit by lakhs.

Rs 27 per kilowatt is being taken as a fixed charge from the society residents, which is much less than the rate of NPCL. Apart from this, residents are also being given discounts on various items. The AOA team is doing the audit, after the audit, wherever there is scope for reduction in the fee, it will be done.
