Greater Noida West: A water crisis has reportedly intensified at Supertech Eco Village-2 in Sector-16B, Greater Noida West, with residents alleging that inadequate water supply has left thousands of people dependent on tankers. Families have also claimed that they are being forced to purchase drinking water from outside to meet their daily requirements.

Water shortage affects thousands of residents

According to residents, the society has around 3,500 families and the shortage has affected a large number of households. Residents allege that the regular water supply is insufficient to meet the society’s requirements, particularly for drinking and kitchen use. The shortage has reportedly made routine household activities difficult, with families having to make alternative arrangements for essential water needs.

Tankers deployed as residents seek drinking water

With the regular supply falling short, water tankers are being used to meet the immediate requirement inside the society. Residents said tanker-based supply has become a necessity rather than a temporary arrangement. A tanker was also seen supplying water in the society, with residents gathering to collect water. Some families have reportedly been purchasing drinking water from outside, adding to their monthly household expenses.

Residents raise concerns over security and management

Apart from the water shortage, residents have also raised concerns over the arrangements being made to manage the situation. They want the society management and concerned authorities to ensure that adequate water is made available to all households and that residents do not have to depend on private arrangements. Residents have also sought greater clarity on the existing water supply system and the measures being taken to address the shortage.

Residents demand permanent solution

Residents say repeated dependence on tankers cannot be a sustainable solution for a residential society housing thousands of families. They have urged the management and concerned authorities to identify the reason behind the shortage and ensure a reliable water supply. Residents are now seeking a permanent resolution to the crisis so that families can access adequate drinking and domestic water without having to purchase it from outside.
