Noida: Residents of Sector 105 have raised concerns over alleged encroachment and unauthorised activities on the green belt in D-Block, with the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) seeking immediate intervention from the Noida Authority.
According to the RWA, construction-related activities allegedly being carried out by Max Estates have affected portions of the green belt and surrounding public spaces. The association has alleged that air-conditioned containers have been placed on the green belt, trees have been damaged or removed and a paved road is being constructed on the green area.
The RWA has also alleged that portions of a boundary wall have been damaged and that locks have been placed on the gates of the park and green belt, restricting access for residents.
RWA Seeks Immediate Action
RWA president Divya Krishnatreya has urged the Noida Authority CEO to take immediate cognisance of the matter and conduct an inspection of the site.
The association has sought removal of any unauthorised structures or containers found on the green belt, a halt to any construction activity that does not have the required permissions and restoration of public access to the affected areas.
The RWA has also demanded action over the alleged damage to trees and the boundary wall, including assessment of any environmental or public-property damage and appropriate penalties if violations are established.
Residents Seek Protection Of Public Green Space
The association said the green belt and park are regularly used by senior citizens, women and children and should remain accessible to residents.
The allegations raised by the RWA are yet to be independently verified. Any action against Max Estates would depend on an inspection and determination by the competent authorities regarding permissions, land-use status and compliance with applicable regulations.
The RWA has urged the Noida Authority to conduct a factual assessment of the site and take action in accordance with the law.
