Noida: Good news for high-rise and sector residents, now the polling station will be nearby, meeting held with RWA and AOA

Following the directives of the Election Commission of India, efforts are being made to set up polling stations right where voters live in multi-storey societies and sectors. Regarding polling centers, a meeting was held on Wednesday at the Collectorate in Surajpur, chaired by District Magistrate/District Election Officer Medha Rupam, along with RWAs and AOAs presidents and secretaries, as well as other officials. During the meeting, the District Election Officer shared information about dividing polling stations based on a standard of 1,200 voters and setting up new polling stations as needed.

The District Election Officer said during a meeting with RWA and AOA that new polling stations can be set up in high-rise residential societies and sectors in places where between 300 to 1200 voters live. These places should also have a safe environment along with all the necessary basic facilities. Suggestions for this have also been requested. Within the next two days, anyone can send their suggestions regarding this to the District Election Office via email at adeo-gbn@nic.in. The District Election Officer also mentioned that areas around high-rise residential societies and sectors have a large population of workers.

Priority should also be given to the convenience of those voters. Suggestions have also been sought for setting up polling stations in such areas. This is so that every eligible voter can have access to a nearby and convenient polling center.
