
Noida : A five-day free obesity-prevention camp organised by the Indian Yoga Institute concluded on Sunday at C-Block Park in Sector 51, Noida. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 70 practitioners who attended yoga, meditation and wellness sessions aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and preventing obesity. Participants received valuable guidance on fitness, balanced nutrition and the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines.
RWA Secretary Attends as Chief Guest
The closing ceremony was attended by Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary of the Sector 51 RWA, as the chief guest. Bhupendra Kaur, Organisational Secretary of Indian Yoga Institute Delhi Province and Sarabjit Singh, District Secretary of Noida District-3, attended as special guests. The camp was organised under the guidance of Hira Singh Bisht, President of Indian Yoga Institute, Noida District-1, and Hema Nakra, Zonal Secretary.
Experts Highlight Causes and Risks of Obesity
During the camp, yoga experts and institute officials discussed the growing problem of obesity and the health complications associated with it. They emphasised that sedentary lifestyles, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating habits and irregular daily routines are among the primary causes of obesity. The experts encouraged participants to adopt a balanced diet, practice yoga regularly and maintain a disciplined lifestyle to achieve long-term health benefits.
Yoga Encouraged as a Solution to Lifestyle Diseases
District officials Abhishek Kumar, Sanjay Sharma and Raman Dwivedi also addressed the gathering and motivated participants to remain health-conscious and make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.

Addressing the gathering, Hira Singh Bisht highlighted the importance of meditation and selfless action, noting that mental balance and positive thinking play significant roles in obesity management and overall well-being. His insightful session emerged as one of the key attractions of the camp, with participants showing keen interest in understanding the connection between mental wellness and physical health.
Dignitaries Honoured with Tulsi Plants
In keeping with the traditions of the Indian Yoga Institute, the birthdays of Bhupendra Kaur and Sarabjit Singh were celebrated during the ceremony with Vedic chants and warm wishes from attendees. On the occasion, chief guest Sanjeev Kumar, C-Block President and RWA member Arvind Sharma, Bhupendra Kaur and Sarabjit Singh were honoured with Tulsi plants as a symbol of environmental conservation and healthy living. The programme was conducted by Hema Nakra.
Participants Pledge to Continue Daily Yoga Practice
At the conclusion of the five-day camp, all participants pledged to devote at least one hour daily to yoga and adopt a healthy, disease-free lifestyle. Residents and attendees appreciated the Indian Yoga Institute’s public welfare initiative and stressed the need for such wellness programmes to be organised regularly for the benefit of the community.
