Greater Noida: In a significant development for residents of Sector Beta-1, construction of a long-awaited park opposite Officers Colony formally commenced on May 10, 2026. The project was inaugurated with traditional rituals and prayers during the monthly review meeting of the Beta-1 Residents Welfare Association (RWA), held at the community centre in the sector.
The meeting was chaired by RWA President Sangeeta Sharma, while General Secretary Harendra Bhati conducted the proceedings. Discussions focused on various development issues, including sanitation, beautification of parks and other civic concerns affecting residents.
During the meeting, the RWA decided to install information and directional signboards in all parks across Sector Beta-1. These boards will provide guidance regarding yoga areas, children’s play zones, cricket and volleyball grounds, and cleanliness guidelines to discourage littering.
A major highlight of the meeting was the ceremonial launch of the park construction project on a piece of land that had remained vacant for years opposite Officers Colony. RWA office bearers performed a traditional puja and broke a coconut to mark the beginning of construction work. Residents described the occasion as a historic achievement for the sector.
Members of the association praised the relentless efforts of RWA General Secretary Harendra Bhati, who had been pursuing the issue with the Greater Noida Authority for nearly 13 to 14 years. According to RWA representatives, his continuous follow-up and commitment ultimately led to the approval and commencement of both the park and boundary wall construction.
RWA Patron Devisharan Sharma appreciated the Greater Noida Authority for taking up the project and acknowledged the role played by the RWA team, particularly Harendra Bhati, in bringing the long-pending demand to fruition.
The park would provide a better recreational environment for children, senior citizens and women. The park would be equipped with swings, greenery and other modern amenities, enhancing the quality of life in the area.

I want to say thank you to the Greater Noida Authority and the concerned departments for initiating the park’s development and beautification.
