Noida: In the e-city bus, passengers will be charged a minimum fare of 10 rupees. A pass for traveling the whole day will cost 50 rupees. A 10 percent discount will be given on a monthly pass. There will be a facility to book e-tickets through an app. The e-city bus will have to cover 200 kilometers daily.
For viability gap funding (VGF), 69 rupees per kilometer will be paid by the Noida Authority to the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). In the first phase, 100 e-city buses will operate.
This will benefit 1 million people of Noida-Greater Noida with public transport services. This project is being seen as a last-mile connectivity initiative. In order to provide better public transport services to 1 million Noida residents.
Noida Authority CEO Krishna Karunesh stated that the contract with UPSRTC for the e-city bus service to be operated in the city will be signed this month. The authority has finalized the terms and conditions. The file has been sent to the financial controller to finalize the draft of the contract.
For the e-bus service, Noida has been connected to Greater Noida, Grano West, and Jewar-based Noida International Airport via four routes, linking Ghaziabad, Delhi, and Noida’s internal roads. UPSRTC has been asked to recruit about 300 drivers and conductors.
Facility will be available from NMRC depot located in Sector-90
To operate and maintain the e-city buses, UPSRTC staff will be provided access to the NMRC city bus depot located in Sector-90.
Twenty e-charging points will be created at the depot for charging the buses.
Two power connections of 2,500-2,500 kilowatts will be taken.
In the first phase, about 100 buses of 9 and 12-meter length will be run.
Ten double-decker buses will operate between Noida and Greater Noida.
Service center, rest rooms for drivers and conductors, and rooms for office staff will be created in the depot.
In emergency situations, four alternative charging stations will be available at Botanical Garden bus stand.
