Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has introduced a new ‘Park and Fly’ facility, enabling travellers to reserve parking spaces in advance and streamline their airport experience.

The service allows passengers to book parking slots online through the airport’s official website, covering a range of vehicles including cars, two-wheelers, buses, and coaches. Once a booking is completed, users receive a confirmation email, which can be presented at the entry gate for smooth access to designated parking zones such as E-9 and E-10.

The initiative comes in response to growing demand for parking at the airport, particularly during peak travel periods. Unlike traditional systems, the ‘Park and Fly’ facility does not require upfront payment; users can settle parking charges at the exit, offering added convenience.

The service also includes optional valet parking, providing an additional layer of ease for travellers looking to minimise time spent navigating parking areas.

Ideal For Short-Duration Travellers

Airport authorities noted that the facility is especially beneficial for passengers undertaking short trips to nearby cities such as Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Rajahmundry.

By securing parking in advance, travellers can avoid last-minute delays and ensure a smoother departure process.

Tariff Structure For Different Vehicle Categories

According to a report in The Indian Express, the airport has outlined a structured pricing system for both short-term and extended parking. For four-wheelers, charges begin at Rs 150 for up to 30 minutes, with a maximum daily cap of Rs 750. Two-wheeler parking starts at Rs 40 for one hour and goes up to Rs 250 for a 24-hour period.

Valet parking services are priced separately, ranging from Rs 300 for shorter durations of 30 minutes to Rs 900 for a full day. Dedicated tariff plans have also been introduced for commercial vehicles and larger transport options such as buses and coaches.

Booking Guidelines And Access Management

Passengers are required to reserve their parking slots at least six hours before arrival at the airport. Each booking remains valid for 24 hours from the selected check-in time, ensuring flexibility for travellers.

In cases where primary parking zones are fully occupied, vehicles will be directed to alternative available areas within the airport premises, ensuring uninterrupted access.

With the introduction of the ‘Park and Fly’ service, RGIA aims to enhance overall passenger convenience and reduce congestion at entry points. The move is part of broader efforts to modernise airport services and cater to increasing passenger traffic with more efficient infrastructure solutions.
