Gautam Budh Nagar: Social worker Naresh Nautiyal has strongly raised concerns over the increasing financial pressure on parents by private schools across the district. Highlighting issues such as arbitrary fee hikes, expensive books, and frequent uniform changes, he has brought the matter into sharp administrative focus.

Education is a service, not a means of financial exploitation. He consistently raised the issue with authorities and worked to make parents aware of their rights.

Following his efforts, the district administration has issued strict guidelines for private schools. These include regulation of fee hikes, a ban on forcing parents to purchase specific books, and restrictions on unnecessary changes in school uniforms.

The District Magistrate has also issued a clear message, stating:

If any parent has a complaint regarding a school, they can directly approach the administration. Every complaint will be taken seriously and necessary action will be ensured.

Parents across the district have welcomed the intervention and shared their concerns:

Every year, we are forced to buy new books and uniforms from specific vendors at high prices. It becomes very difficult to manage household expenses.

Fee hikes come without any proper explanation. We feel helpless as our children’s education is at stake.

There should be transparency in the fee structure. Schools cannot treat parents like a source of unlimited income.
