Illegal posters deface signboards and bus stands in Greater Noida’s Sector Beta-1, residents demand strict action against violators.
Greater Noida : Greater Noida’s efforts to maintain cleanliness and urban order have come under strain as multiple cases of illegal poster pasting have surfaced across Sector Beta-1 and adjoining areas. Directional signboards and bus stands, meant to assist commuters and enhance civic infrastructure, are now covered with unauthorised posters, affecting both the city’s aesthetics and public convenience.
Public inconvenience and visual clutter
Residents have reported that the widespread defacement of signboards is making navigation difficult, particularly for visitors and daily commuters. Bus stands, which serve as key public transit points, are also heavily plastered with posters, creating an unkempt and chaotic appearance in otherwise planned sectors.
Authorities under scrutiny
What has raised concerns among residents is the apparent lack of enforcement by the Greater Noida Authority’s urban department. Notably, many of these posters openly display mobile numbers of those responsible for putting them up. Despite this, no strict action has been initiated so far, pointing towards administrative negligence.
Active citizen team steps in
Taking serious note of the issue, the Active Citizen Team, along with Harendra Bhati, conducted an on-ground inspection of the affected areas. The team observed that a majority of directional boards and bus stops were defaced, highlighting the scale of the problem.
Demand for strict action
Harinder Bhati stated that such acts not only amount to misuse of public property but also damage the city’s image. He has urged the concerned authorities to immediately remove these posters and initiate strict legal action against those responsible.
