Greater Noida West: Panic gripped residents of Panchsheel Greens 2 after a stray dog attacked and bit a four-year-old child inside the society premises. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, raising fresh concerns over the growing stray dog menace within gated communities. According to the family, the child is physically stable but is in deep psychological distress and is now afraid to step out and play.
Attack Caught on Camera
As per information shared by the family, the incident took place when the child was playing in an open area inside the society complex. CCTV footage shows the child running when a stray dog suddenly approaches and bites him within seconds.
Hearing the child’s screams, nearby residents rushed to the spot and managed to drive the dog away. The child was immediately taken to a hospital where doctors administered anti-rabies injections and provided necessary first aid.
While doctors have confirmed that the child is out of physical danger, the family says he is mentally shaken and refuses to go outdoors.
Father Questions Society’s Security Arrangements
Ved Prakash, a resident of the society and the child’s father, has alleged negligence on the part of the society management and the builder.
He stated that residents regularly pay maintenance charges, yet basic safety measures appear inadequate. According to him, stray dogs roam freely inside the premises despite repeated complaints by residents.
“If there had been even a slight delay in reaching him, the situation could have been far more serious,” he said, expressing concern over his son’s emotional trauma.
Residents Demand Immediate Action
The incident has triggered anger among residents. Many have demanded that the management coordinate with local authorities to safely remove stray dogs from inside the society premises.
Residents are also urging the administration to intensify sterilisation and vaccination drives to control the growing stray dog population in Greater Noida West.
Several residents claim that earlier, stray dogs were mostly seen outside the society gates. However, they allege that some individuals feed stray dogs inside the premises, which has led to a noticeable increase in their presence within the compound.
The latest incident has once again highlighted the ongoing debate between safety concerns and animal welfare responsibilities, leaving residents demanding urgent and balanced intervention from authorities.
