Greater Noida West: Residents of Mahagun Mywoods housing society are facing renewed traffic problems despite the installation of barricades aimed at improving road safety. Instead of easing congestion, the barricading has allegedly led to wrong-side parking and traffic violations, making daily movement more difficult for residents.

Nishant Soti, a resident of Mahagun Mywoods, said the barricades were put in place with the hope of finding a positive solution. However, the current ground situation tells a different story.

Two-wheelers are now being parked in the middle of the road and traffic is moving on the wrong side. This has made our lives more problematic than before.

The situation has raised serious safety concerns, especially for school-going children. Nishant’s daughter studies at nearby school and has to cross this stretch every day.

It has become almost impossible for my child to cross the road safely due to wrong-side parking and uncontrolled traffic.

Residents also pointed out that earlier a traffic police personnel was deployed at the spot to manage the situation. That arrangement no longer exists.

Earlier, there was one traffic police officer assigned here. Now no one is present. It seems the authorities believe that barricading has resolved the issue, but that is not the reality on the ground.

Locals are urging the traffic department to reassess the situation, ensure regular deployment of traffic police personnel, and take strict action against wrong-side parking and traffic violations to prevent any untoward incident.

Residents warn that if immediate corrective steps are not taken, the current situation could lead to serious accidents, especially involving children and pedestrians.x
