Noida: The demand for establishing a bench of the Allahabad High Court in Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) has gained momentum, with the DDRWA Federation of Gautam Buddh Nagar formally urging the authorities to approve the proposal in the interest of public convenience and faster access to justice. The \ which serves as the apex body of Resident Welfare Associations in the district, stated that the opening of a High Court bench in Gautam Buddh Nagar would greatly benefit residents of Western Uttar Pradesh by ensuring timely, affordable and accessible justice.
Faster and more affordable justice
At present, residents of Gautam Buddh Nagar and nearby districts are compelled to travel to Prayagraj or Lucknow for High Court-related cases. This not only leads to a significant financial burden but also causes delays in legal proceedings. A local High Court bench would reduce travel time, lower expenses, and accelerate case hearings.
Strengthening judicial infrastructure
The federation highlighted that Gautam Buddh Nagar, being a rapidly developing district and part of the Delhi-NCR region, is strategically well-positioned to host a High Court bench. Its establishment would strengthen the judicial infrastructure of Western Uttar Pradesh and help decongest existing courts.
Employment generation and economic growth
The opening of a High Court bench is expected to generate substantial local employment opportunities for lawyers, court staff, clerical workers, and allied services. In addition, the development of supporting infrastructure such as roads, power supply, water facilities, and civic amenities would further boost regional growth.
Long-standing demand of Western UP
The demand for a High Court bench in Western Uttar Pradesh has been pending for decades. Legal experts and civic bodies have consistently argued that establishing a bench in a key district like Gautam Buddh Nagar would serve a large population and transform the region into a major judicial hub.
Appeal to the Government
DDRWA Federation President A. N. P. Singh and Senior Vice President Sanjeev Kumar have appealed to the government to give due consideration to this long-pending public demand and approve the proposal for setting up a bench of the Allahabad High Court in Gautam Buddh Nagar at the earliest.
