Greater Noida West: Residents have raised an alarm after stubble burning was spotted at Gaur Chowk, causing a sudden rise in local pollution levels. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire was seen spreading across dry crop residue, releasing dense smoke into the air.

With the Air Quality Index already touching hazardous categories in the NCR region, such activities pose a serious threat to public health and may lead to GNW being labeled a new hotspot of pollution if not controlled swiftly.
Locals have urged local authorities and fire services to take immediate action to extinguish the flames and prevent recurrence. They are also demanding strict enforcement of environmental norms to ensure accountability.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement.
