Noida : Efforts to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Noida’s residential societies have gained momentum. Surajit Dasgupta, Secretary of the Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Associations (NOFAA) and General Secretary of Exotica Fresco AOA, met District Magistrate Medha Rupam, IAS, requesting formal guidelines for installation and compliance.
Dasgupta highlighted that many older housing societies lack EV charging provisions, forcing AOAs to face operational challenges. With residents increasingly applying for personal EV charging points, AOAs are unable to grant approvals due to the absence of clear administrative rules on electrical load management and fire safety compliance.
He also referred to an April 2025 meeting chaired by ADM (Finance) Atul Kumar, where the issue was previously discussed. Taking note of the matter, the District Magistrate assured that a joint meeting involving NOFAA, AOAs, UPPCL, Fire Department and other stakeholders will be held soon to draft actionable guidelines.
Dasgupta said that such directives will empower AOAs to support the government’s e-mobility mission safely and responsibly while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and transparency, ultimately preventing disputes between residents and management bodies.
