Royal Enfield is making it easier for motorcycle enthusiasts to own their dream bike. From September 22, this year, the company will lower prices on its popular 350cc motorcycles, thanks to the new GST 2.0 tax changes. This means models like the Classic 350, Meteor 350, Bullet 350 and Hunter 350 will now cost less, making them more affordable for buyers across India.

At the same time, Royal Enfield’s bigger bikes, powered by 450cc and 650cc engines, will become more expensive due to higher tax rates under the new GST structure. The new tax system aims to simplify the tax process, but has mixed effects depending on engine size.

GST Changes Make Smaller Bikes Cheaper, Bigger Ones Costlier

Under the updated GST regime, two-wheelers with engine capacity up to 350cc will now be taxed at 18 per cent, down from the earlier 28 per cent. This change allows Royal Enfield to reduce the prices of their 350cc motorcycles by up to Rs 22,000.

Popular models such as the Classic 350, Meteor 350, Hunter 350, and Bullet 350 are all part of this price cut, making them more accessible to first-time buyers and enthusiasts looking for a retro-style motorcycle.

On the other hand, motorcycles with engines above 350cc will now face a steep tax increase. The tax rate has jumped to 40 per cent, from the earlier combined tax and cess of 31 per cent.

This means that models like the Himalayan 450, Guerilla 450 and the 650cc lineup, which includes the Classic 650 and Continental GT 650, will see noticeable price hikes starting September 22.

Royal Enfield Passes Benefits Directly to Buyers

Royal Enfield isn’t holding back on these changes. The company has clearly stated that the full benefit of the GST reduction will be passed on to customers.

As quoted by NDTV, B Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and CEO of Royal Enfield, commented, “The Government of India’s latest GST reform will not only make motorcycles under 350cc more accessible but will also excite the first-time buyers.”

“Royal Enfield is delighted to announce that we are passing the full GST benefit of the price revision directly to our consumers, opening the world of Royal Enfield to an even larger community of riders,” he added.

This strategic pricing adjustment makes owning a Royal Enfield more attractive to a wider audience, especially those entering the motorcycle market for the first time.
