Police Chaupal held in Sector-112, Residents raise safety and traffic concerns Noida: A joint meeting of RWAs from Sector-112, 116, and 117 was organized under the Police Aapke Dwar programme. The meeting was held at the Sector-112 Community Centre, a critical hub for local engagement. The session was attended by ACP Twinkle Jain, a prominent figure in community policing, along with SHO Krishna Gipal Sharma, Chowki Incharge Hari Mohan Dixit, and their teams. Representing the Federation of Noida Residents’ Welfare Associations (FONRWA), General Secretary K.K. Jain and Joint Treasurer and Sector-122 General Secretary Bhushan Sharma actively participated. This engagement emphasizes the importance of collaboration between residents and law enforcement in maintaining community safety.
Residents highlighted several key issues before the officials:
The meeting was not only a platform for raising concerns but also an opportunity for residents to engage directly with law enforcement officials, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility. Residents came prepared with experiences and perspectives that illustrated the pressing issues affecting their neighborhoods, demonstrating the critical need for effective communication and action in community policing.
Nagendra Singh, RWA President of Sector-112, passionately demanded regular police patrolling, especially during nighttime hours when incidents of crime tend to spike. He recounted specific instances of burglary that have occurred in the sector recently, which have left residents feeling vulnerable. In addition, he raised the increasingly problematic issue of heavy traffic jams on the FNG Road during evening hours, a situation that not only causes frustration but also raises concerns about emergency response times due to blocked roads.
Kosindar Yadav, RWA President of Sector-117, voiced serious concerns regarding the liquor shops situated near Gate No. 3. He articulated the dangers posed by anti-social elements who often frequent the area after consuming alcohol, which leads to alarming safety concerns, particularly for female residents. Yadav’s observations about the growing number of street vendors in the vicinity, combined with evening traffic congestion near the sector, paint a picture of a community grappling with safety and order amidst rapid urbanization.
Col. T.S. Chaudhary, Vice President of Sector-116 RWA, suggested the establishment of a common communication channel between RWAs and the police. This channel would facilitate timely reporting of issues and foster a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Chaudhary’s proposal highlights the necessity for systematic communication lines to be created to enhance public safety effectively and ensure that residents’ concerns are addressed efficiently.
FONRWA General Secretary K.K. Jain emphasized the necessity for regular police patrols across all sectors, advocating for Chaupals to be held at least once every two months. He stressed the importance of these gatherings as a means for residents to voice their grievances directly to law enforcement. Jain’s insistence on consistent engagement underscores the need for police presence to deter crime and reassure community members, fostering a feeling of safety and trust.
In response to the residents’ concerns, ACP Twinkle Jain assured the attendees that all issues would be thoroughly addressed. She directed her team to implement adequate police patrolling in the affected sectors, reiterating the commitment of law enforcement to enhance community safety. Her proactive approach demonstrates the police’s willingness to work closely with residents to create a safer environment.
The meeting attracted significant attendance, with residents expressing their concerns and suggestions vigorously, showcasing a community eager for positive change. This active participation is a testament to the residents’ commitment to improving their living conditions and ensuring their neighborhood’s safety. Engaging with local authorities in such a manner not only empowers residents but also enhances the collaborative efforts needed to address community challenges.
