Noida: Yuva Shakti YSS Foundation and Unicharm jointly arranged a special awareness program to promote women’s hygiene and empowerment on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The event was held at Gemini Public School, Sector 6, Yuva Street to School, Sector 127 and surrounding slum areas.
Hygiene kit was distributed to 2000 girls
On this occasion, women’s hygiene kits and sanitary pads were distributed to more than 2000 women and adolescent girls. With the support of Gautam Buddha Nagar Police, interactive sessions were organized to make women aware of health, hygiene and women’s rights. During the program, they were also given information about government schemes so that they could take advantage of their rights and government benefits.
Mental health and personal care are also important
Presiding over the program, Sushma Nishad highlighted the social contribution of women and emphasized the need for their empowerment towards self-reliance. Sub Inspector Kavita Chaudhary and Neha provided information on important topics related to menstrual hygiene, mental health and personal care.
Navya Kant, Priyanka, Komal and Urvashi Dubey were made aware of their special contribution to women’s safety and public awareness in the program.
This effort of the YSS Foundation not only made women aware of their health and hygiene but also inspired them to live life with confidence and dignity. The organization is committed to continuing such public welfare campaigns in future as well.
On this occasion, residents, children and dedicated workers of the organization were present in large numbers.
