The Forest Department issued a notice to the Noida Authority for the poor condition of dust free zone

Noida: The dust-free zone built by the authority in Noida Sector-77 is in a bad condition due to the negligence of the authority officials. Where there used to be lush green grass, now there is only soil. The dust-free zone is being dug up repeatedly for laying water pipelines, electricity cables, fibre for the internet and other reasons. Due to this, the dust-free zone has been completely ruined. Seeing the poor condition of the dust-free zone, residents have been complaining to the authorities for a long time, but the concerned officials are not taking any action.

The officials of the Forest Department and Pollution Department have taken cognizance of the poor condition of the dust-free zone located in Sector-77. The Forest Department has issued a notice to the project engineer and contractor of the Noida Authority. Both have been ordered to appear in the office and record their statements.

Cutting trees is a punishable offence under the Tree Protection Act 1976

It is written in the notice sent by the Forest Department that the work of laying a water pipeline was being done in Noida Sector 77. To lay the pipeline, trenches were dug near the trees, due to which the roots of all the trees standing there were cut, which is a punishable offence under the Tree Protection Act 1976.

Orders to appear in Forest Dept. Office

The Forest Department has ordered the senior manager and contractor of Noida Authority to appear in the office on Saturday and record their statements. The Forest Department has also warned that if the statement is not recorded by coming physically to the office, then further action will be taken by registering a case under the relevant sections of the Tree Protection Act.
