Noida: The oldest federation of Noida, has written a letter to the Chief Engineer of UPPCL, Noida regarding the inconveniences caused due to frequent power supply disruptions in Noida because of weak power infrastructure.
Know what is written in the letter
P.S. Jain, the President, Conrwa writes, “I want to inform you that the power revenue in Noida city is about 98 per cent and the line loss here is the lowest. Despite that, the power infrastructure here is very weak. As soon as there is a little rain in the city, the power goes off and does not come back for hours. The power goes off as soon as it comes for a little while and does not come back for 5-6 hours.”
‘Frequent power outages with no proper finding of loopholes’
He continues, “Do the SDO and Executive Engineer here come only for office work or have they ever gone out in their areas to see the condition of the power lines, the condition of the jumpers, the reasons for frequent power outages and in case of a fault in the line, here all the work is left to the lineman only. Due to this sometimes a lot of time is wasted in finding the fault and the public has to face trouble. Has any Executive Engineer or SDO ever visited the fault site to see what is happening?”
‘Financial condition of the department is good, still loopholes in the system’
“Chief Engineer Sir, have you ever gone out of your office and seen why the power supply is interrupted repeatedly? Perhaps you have also not gone out of the office and inspected the power substations in your area and found a permanent solution to this problem. Here I would also like to tell you that the financial condition of the department is also good, despite this we are not strengthening the power infrastructure of our city, the reasons behind this should also be found out.”
‘The industries are also getting affected heavily’
P. S. Jain further writes, “Due to this deficiency, the industries here are also being affected heavily. Power cuts are compelling businessmen to suffer losses of several hundred crores per day. When the people and businessmen here pay their bills on time and the Noida region is number 1 in the state due to its revenue, more attention should be paid to the power infrastructure here. There is no logic to endure unnecessary power cuts. Its direct impact falls only on the public.”
‘Requesting for the formal inspection by the ministry’
The organization requests that a formal inspection should be done by the Honorable Minister and a high-level committee and if any engineer of any level is found negligent in his work, he should be transferred to another place by taking immediate departmental action against him and high-quality employees should be appointed here and a part of the revenue generated from here should be spent on improving the electrical infrastructure here.
