Noida: Noida Authority has started a community kitchen at Labor Chowk in Sector 49 in collaboration with ISKCON temple. CEO of Noida Authority says, “Under this campaign, free and good food has been arranged for construction workers and daily wage labourers at present. The objective is to provide quality food to labourers and poor construction workers at the lowest price in the coming time. Community kitchen service will be started in various areas of Noida.”
You can provide food to labourers on birthdays, marriages etc
Noida Authority officials informed Apartment Times, “You can contribute to the community kitchen located in Noida Sector-49 on special occasions like birthdays, marriages and death anniversaries.”
Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Lokesh M says, “In this kitchen, 488 labourers and daily wage workers have been given free food. Feedback has also been taken from the labourers present on the spot to further improve the facility in the coming days. The labourers have also praised this system of providing them quality food.”
The price will be Rs 10 per plate
Noida Authority Deputy General Manager (Civil) SP Singh says, “At present, we are providing food for free and will decide on other things including the price of food based on the feedback from the workers. The price of a plate of food will be Rs 10 and the menu will have many types of dishes including potato curry, puri, halwa, khichdi and chola-rice. Since this service has started, around 500-600 workers are eating food here every day.”
