Noida: The weather in Noida is severely hot and humid. The temperature has been recorded between 45 to 48 degrees. In this scorching heat, the Noida Authority has taken a pledge to save the greenery and roadside plants. The authority has covered the designing plants planted along the highway near the Mayamaya flyover on the Noida Greno Expressway with a green net.
‘Caring for plants is a big challenge in the summer season’
Noida Authority officials say, “This step will save water because the covered plants will need less water. Also, these plants will not get direct sunlight, so that they will be saved from drying. In this way not only will the greenery remain intact, but the beauty of the highway will also remain intact. Caring for plants is a big challenge in the summer season. This step of the Noida Authority is commendable from both environmental protection and water conservation perspectives. Also, it is an economical and easy way to take care of plants.
Traffic police installed green nets on road intersections
To provide relief from the scorching heat in Gautam Buddha Nagar, the traffic police have taken a unique initiative. Green nets are being installed near red lights at crowded intersections here, so that waiting passengers and two-wheeler drivers can be protected from direct sunlight and their health is not adversely affected. Traffic police officials said, “We have decided to install green nets at places where there is more movement of two-wheelers and they have to wait for a long time at the red light.”
