Noida: On May 25, 2024, Saturday, dry leaves caught fire in Meghdutam Park, Noida. Seeing the fire and smoke, people walking in the park panicked. Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and controlled the fire. Residents alleged that dry waste was deliberately set on fire.
Sanjeev Kumar, General Secretary, Sector-51 RWA says, “Suddenly smoke started rising in the park at around 5:45 am and flames started rising. It was seen that dry waste kept at two places in the park caught fire. This fire did not occur on its own but was deliberately set. If the fire had occurred on its own, it would not have occurred at both places at the same time. People walking in the park were very much troubled by the smoke from the fire.”
They first tried to inform about the fire on 112 but despite trying several times, the number did not connect. Somehow, the fire brigade was informed. On receiving information about the fire, fire brigade vehicles controlled the fire.
