‘I Am 50% in Population, I Want 50% in Wealth’: Rahul Gandhi Again Stirs Poll Pot with ‘Redistribution’ Ladle

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, spoke at a Nyay Manch event on Saturday and once again argued that income should be allocated according to the percentage of different sectors of the Indian population. In the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party intends to question the economic model that the Wayanad MP is offering and use this as more fodder to attack him and his party.

Although Rahul Gandhi’s “wealth redistribution” argument is not included in the Congress’ agenda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a warning against it. Rajnath Singh, the minister of defence, stated to News18 that Gandhi’s strategy will cause a downturn in the economy.

An economic survey will be used to determine the amount of wealth held by women, the poor of general castes, and the backwards. After then, new politics will begin. If you have 50% of the population but only 2% of the wealth, someone will argue he wants 50% of the wealth. Questioned by an OBC person on stage, Gandhi responded, “Seedhi baat hai…this is our thought.”

According to the Congress leader, 90% of the population of the nation is unaware of their numerical significance, which includes Dalits, tribal people, and members of the lower classes. What percentage of India’s wealth is in your control—you have no idea—and how much money is held by the OBC population? Nobody is aware. After the caste census, we’ll conduct an economic survey. We’ll find out who is wealthy. “Every institution will conduct a survey,” Gandhi said to a young audience.

The leader of the Congress added that a caste census will also show the number of OBCs in the military, business sector, judiciary, and media. “Sab pata chal jayega, hamare log kahan baithe hain.” he uttered.
