UP Rera: Names of the benches have been changed, Read to know more

GBN/ Lucknow: The big news of the time is coming from Gautam Buddha Nagar and Lucknow. UP RERA has changed the number and names of Benches in Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar. Its purpose is to simplify the process of filing complaints and to determine the rules for evaluation before a hearing. In this regard, a new SOP was issued on 2 December 2023. Let us tell you that till now there were two benches in RERA’s Lucknow headquarters and three benches in NCR. Apart from this, there are also courts of Adjudicating Officers in Lucknow and NCR.

Four benches will function in Gautam Buddha Nagar

According to the new SOP of UP RERA, from January 16, 2024, two benches will function in the Lucknow headquarters and four in the NCR office at Gautam Buddha Nagar. These benches will hear complaints regularly. The changed names of the chairs are as follows:

Hearing of these districts will be held in Greater Noida

It is noteworthy that the complaints related to districts Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur and Shamli will be heard in the benches of NCR Office, Greater Noida. Complaints coming from all other districts of the state will be heard in the benches of Lucknow headquarters. According to the roster, RERA chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy will hear the complaints in Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar offices.

Redressal of 40 per cent of the country’s complaints

Regarding the change in the number and names of benches in UP, Sanjay Bhoosreddy says, “The number of benches is determined by RERA from time to time keeping in mind the complaints under consideration and the number of working members. Its objective is that complaints should be resolved quickly and justice should be accessible to consumers. The result of the flexible system adopted by UP RERA for the formation of benches and determination of cases is that UP RERA alone accounts for 40 per cent of the total complaints disposed of in the country.”
