Greater Noida: A miserable accident took place in Supertech Golf City located in the Rabupura Kotwali area of Greater Noida. A labourer fell from the 13th floor while working at the construction site at Supertech Golf City and died on the spot. After the incident, the relatives of the victim and other villagers demonstrated vigorously demanding compensation. As soon as the information was received, ACP along with the police reached the spot and tried to convince the people.

Labourer worked as a mason at Supertech Golf Country

Suresh the deceased labourer was 40 years old and was a resident of Niloni Shahpur village of Rabupura Kotwali area. Her wife also worked with him as a labourer. They both had 2 sons and a daughter.

Know exactly what happened

Like every day, last Sunday also both husband and wife were working. While working, for some reason Suresh fell from the 13th floor. Hearing the screaming sound while falling, his wife and other people also ran towards the spot. He died tragically on the spot after he fell. After the incident, the wife of the deceased hugged her husband’s dead body and started screaming.

Suresh died due to contractor’s negligence

It is alleged that to hush up the matter, the body of the deceased was taken out of the under-construction site by the contractor. After the information, other relatives and villagers reached the spot, protested, took possession of the body, kept it at the spot and sat on strike.

‘No security arrangements’

It is alleged by fellow labourers that there is no security arrangement for the workers working at the site. The workers have neither been given helmets nor have any other safety arrangements including safety belts been made. People say that the mason died due to the negligence of the contractor.

Compensation of Rs 5 lakh to deceased’s wife

After the information, a heavy police force also reached the spot to maintain peace. People intensified their protest demanding compensation. A consensus could be reached between the officers deployed at the site and the villagers for about 3 hours.

Later, an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh was given to the wife of the deceased. It has also been told that accident insurance has been done for all the labourers, due to which there is a possibility of getting assistance from there also.

In this case, ADCP Ashok Kumar says, “Panchnama of the dead body has been filled and sent for post-mortem. Advance legal action will be taken based on the complaint lodged by the family of the deceased.”
