Covid JN.1: Celebrate, but with care and protocols. Health department issues statement to be cautious while celebrations, hospitals getting ready to face crisis

Noida: COVID-19 new variant Jn.1 is spreading everywhere now. The case in Noida has wrecked the nerves of the health department too making them alert. The big events are coming at the end of December which are causing tension in the Health department. Christmas and New Year are on the way and the city is already ready to celebrate it. Keeping this in mind, the Health Department has issued an advisory to celebrate the festivals.

COVID protocols become mandatory again

According to the advisory issued by the Health Department of Noida, the new variant of Corona found in Noida is not dangerous, but everyone needs to remain cautious and follow the protocols. Social Distancing and masks should be used efficiently. It should be avoided to visit the crowded places.

Know what the CMO says

Sunil Kumar, CMO says, “There is no need to get panicked with this variant. But necessary precautions should be followed without any carelessness. They are for our safety. One must not take the medicine without a doctor’s prescription. If symptoms like cough, cold or flu appear, see the doctor immediately.”

He also informed us – Covid testing and treatment facilities are available at the community and primary health centres of the district including the district hospital of Noida. All health centres of Noida and Greater Noida have been ordered to get tested immediately if symptoms of flu or Covid are seen.

In how many days will the Corona report come?

CMO says that samples will be sent to High Tech Lab Delhi and KGMU Lucknow to detect the variant. The report on genome sequencing comes in 10 days. The test sample of Corona-infected persons found in Sector-36 of Noida has also been sent for genome sequencing.

Hospitals are getting ready for any crisis

Keeping in mind the increasing cases of coronavirus infection, preparations have been started at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) located in Kasna. A 10-bed isolation ward has been prepared in the hospital. If necessary, wards and beds will be increased. Along with this, vigilance is being taken regarding the examination of general patients coming to the hospital. According to the institute administration, the patients coming here for treatment of other diseases are first undergoing antigen tests.
