Noida : A special health awareness program focusing on colorectal cancer and kidney diseases was organised at Medanta Hospital, Noida in Sector 50. The initiative was jointly conducted by YSS Foundation and Medanta Hospital with the aim of spreading awareness about symptoms, prevention and the importance of timely diagnosis of these serious health conditions.

Residents engage with health experts during an awareness session by YSS Foundation at Medanta Hospital Noida, focusing on early signs, prevention and timely treatment of serious diseases.

The program witnessed active participation from residents who were keen to understand more about these diseases. Expert doctors shared crucial medical insights and emphasised early detection as a key factor in effective treatment and prevention.

Dr Abhinav Veerwal, Senior Consultant in Urology and Kidney Transplant, spoke in detail about kidney-related ailments. He highlighted the importance of recognising early symptoms and undergoing timely medical check-ups.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including adequate water intake, a balanced diet and keeping blood pressure and diabetes under control, plays a critical role in preserving kidney health.

Meanwhile, Dr Sonam Gupta, Associate Consultant in GI Surgery and GI Oncology, addressed the audience on colorectal cancer. She explained that the disease develops gradually and can be largely prevented or managed effectively if detected early. She urged people to stay alert to warning signs and opt for regular screenings.

The event was led by Yuvakshi Dhoundiyal on behalf of YSS Foundation. From Medanta Hospital, Program Coordinators Muskan Chauhan, Sumit and Sunil Nehra played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event.

During the session, attendees interacted directly with the doctors, seeking clarity on their health concerns and gaining valuable guidance. Such initiatives play a vital role in promoting public health awareness and encouraging people to prioritise timely diagnosis and treatment.
