Water Woes in Greater Noida West Continues

Greater Noida West: Despite residents paying full charges for water supply, several sectors in Greater Noida West continue to struggle with inadequate and irregular water availability. Many societies are still dependent on private water tankers due to no concrete solution to the ongoing supply issues.

Residents allege that even after paying monthly maintenance fees, including water charges, the Greater Noida Authority and private developers have failed to ensure reliable water services. Regular water supply remains a distant reality for thousands of families living in high-rise apartments.

Pipeline leakage worsens crisis

According to Federation of Apartments Owners Association (FAOA) and RWAs, the root cause of the water crisis lies in frequent pipeline bursts and leakage issues. Sector 1 and several tower clusters experience long delays in repair work, resulting in severe water shortage for days. Due to weak pipeline infrastructure, thousands of liters of water are wasted daily while residents struggle to get even basic water needs fulfilled. Residents complain that despite multiple complaints, authorities have not taken any permanent corrective measures. Private tanker operators continue to profit from the situation as societies are forced to buy water at high prices.

Supply still missing in several sectors

The Greater Noida Authority had earlier promised improved water supply in 2022 under a major water augmentation plan. However, the project is still incomplete. Residents claim that the situation worsened after commissioning of the new pipelines in January 2023, but due to technical faults, many areas remain dry. Sectors with a large number of occupied flats are struggling the most, raising concerns over urban planning and development claims of the authority.

Ajnara Homes: Water tanks also dry

Residents of Ajnara Homes report that two of their water tanks have been non-functional for a long time. Even after repeated requests, no action has been taken. Due to lack of water supply from the central line, most households rely completely on tankers. Residents question why they must endure water scarcity even after timely payment of maintenance fees.

Residents speak out

We are continuously raising the water supply issue with authorities, but there has been no permanent solution yet. Private tankers have become the only option for survival.
