Have you seen that stunning photo doing the rounds on social media, the one that shows a metro coach beautifully covered in traditional Indian artwork? At first glance, it looks straight out of a cultural exhibition with intricate patterns and vibrant designs adorning the entire train. The image quickly went viral with a caption, especially for its claims that it was Patna Metro coach decorated in Madhubani art. But, is it?

Soon after the post gained momentum online, the internet had a lot to say. A person wrote, “This looks so good, I hope people of Bihar understand it’s their responsibility to keep it like that and shoe good cooperation with the metro authorities. Make Bihar Great Again.” While another added, “Very nice.”

However, eagle-eyed netizens began to question the claim. Some pointed out that the artwork didn’t really resemble Madhubani at all. “Ye kahi se bhi Madhubani painting nahi lag raha,” one user commented, with another joining in to add, “Worli art hai ye.”

In the middle of this, one curious user decided to fact-check the claim in a modern way. He tagged Grok, the AI chatbot from X (formerly Twitter) and asked, “Which art form is this? Warli or Madhubani? Hint: it’s in Pune.”

Grok Clears The Air

Grok’s response cleared the air once and for all. It replied, “That’s Warli art. Those geometric stick figures and tribal motifs are classic Warli style from Maharashtra — fits the Pune Metro hint perfectly. The original post might’ve mixed it up with Patna’s Madhubani-themed trains. Cool fusion of culture and transit!”

Patna Or Pune?

And just like that, the mystery was solved. According to the users, the viral image wasn’t from Patna Metro, but actually from Pune Metro and the artwork on the coach was indeed inspired by Warli art, a traditional tribal art form from Maharashtra known for its stick-figure drawings, and depictions of village life.

Of course, the fun continued even after the clarification. One person commented, “Bhaiya… Madhubani to nahi h, Warli, Mandala & Doodling h yahan!” Another joked, “Thank that it’s not flooring, otherwise it would be covered with pan masala stains.”

While the mix-up led to plenty of confusion and debate, it also showed how deeply people appreciate India’s folk art traditions.
