Large-Scale Cleanliness Drive at Yuva Shakti Ghat, Noida
Noida: YSS Foundation organized an extensive cleanliness and awareness campaign at Yuva Shakti Ghat under its “Swachh Yamuna Mission”. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Namami Gange, Government of India. Hundreds of volunteers, social workers and local residents participated enthusiastically, turning the drive into a strong community-led effort.





Focus on environmental and water conservation
The campaign aimed to keep the Yamuna river clean, pure and uninterrupted while strengthening awareness around environmental protection and water conservation.
The mission seeks to transform river conservation into a sustained public movement. Long-term ecological balance depends on consistent citizen participation.

Prominent environmental voices join the campaign
Representatives from Friends of Yamuna were present at the event along with Yamuna coordinator Dinesh Kumar, Durga Prasad Dubey, Kirti and Prakash Kulbe. The speakers collectively called upon citizens to actively engage in Yamuna conservation and contribute to environmental protection as a form of national service.
Participants were also encouraged to associate with the proposed “Special Indian Army Yamuna Task Force” to strengthen organised conservation efforts.
Scientific waste disposal and collective pledge
During the drive, volunteers carried out extensive cleaning of the ghat and adjoining areas. Plastic waste and other solid waste materials were collected and disposed of through safe and scientific methods. Citizens took a collective pledge under the message “Jal Hai To Kal Hai”, reaffirming their responsibility toward maintaining a clean and pollution-free Yamuna.
200+ cleanliness drives and growing public engagement
YSS Foundation has conducted more than 200 cleanliness drives so far, directly connecting thousands of citizens to the environmental movement. The organisation continues to expand its outreach with sustained grassroots participation. The foundation has appealed to residents to take active responsibility in maintaining the cleanliness of the Yamuna and other water bodies, contributing toward a cleaner, healthier and safer environment.
