Greater Noida: Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Greater Noida, on Friday shared details of two complex pediatric cardiac cases during a press conference, highlighting how timely, high-risk heart surgeries saved the lives of a 20-day-old newborn and a 7-year-old child.

The medical team, led by Dr. Viresh Mahajan, Chairman, Pediatric Cardiac Sciences and Dr. Ved Prakash, Director & Head, CTVS, explained the clinical challenges and critical decision-making involved in both cases. Hospital COO Dr. Sunil Kumar Balyan and Yatharth Group CEO Amit Singh were also present.

The first case involved a newborn weighing less than three kilograms, diagnosed with D-Transposition of the Great Arteries, a life-threatening congenital heart defect. Doctors performed a timely arterial switch operation. After intensive care and ventilator support, the baby made a steady recovery and was discharged in stable condition without oxygen support.

The second case was a 7-year-old child suffering from a cyanotic congenital heart disease with single-ventricle physiology. Following a detailed evaluation, the child underwent a planned corrective surgery. Recovery was smooth, and the child was discharged active and stable.

Doctors emphasized that precise timing, teamwork, and advanced care were key to the success of both surgeries, reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to lifesaving pediatric cardiac care.

Success in pediatric cardiac care depends not only on medical expertise but also on thorough preparation, availability of resources, and seamless coordination among teams. “Both cases were extremely delicate, where every decision had to be taken at the right time. Our doctors, nursing staff, and support teams worked together to ensure that both children received the best possible treatment without delay.

Yatharth Group CEO Amit Singh stated that such cases reflect the true purpose of healthcare.

When situations are most challenging, saving lives becomes the only priority. At Yatharth, we are continuously strengthening advanced pediatric cardiac services so that families do not have to travel outside the NCR for critical treatment.

The children’s parents also shared their emotional experiences

We were extremely frightened and did not understand the medical terminology at first, but the doctors explained everything patiently. Today, our child is alive and stable, and that means everything to us.
