Tyler Boyd Helps The Titans Strengthen Their Wide Receiving Group, Per an AP Source

Nashville: TennesseeBy reuniting first-year coach Brian Callahan with Tyler Boyd, a man he knows very well, the Tennessee Titans have reinforced their wide receiving group, according to a person familiar with the deal who spoke with The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Tennessee has agreed to sign a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million on Tuesday, according to an anonymous source who spoke with the AP. The agreement has not yet been made public.

The Titans declined to comment when asked about the pact. Boyd shared “Titan up” on social media on Tuesday afternoon.

After playing for eight seasons in Cincinnati to start his NFL career, Boyd, 29, joined Callahan as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator for the final five seasons. Boyd traveled to Tennessee the previous week, but he failed to reach a consensus.

Born in Pittsburgh, Boyd was selected with the 55th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. In his 120 career games, he has started 77 of them. He has 513 receptions for 6,000 yards and 31 touchdowns. Boyd finished the previous season with two touchdowns and 67 receptions for 667 yards, good for second place in Tennessee just behind DeAndre Hopkins.

The Titans also added Calvin Ridley in March to give the receivers group some competition. Drafted with the 18th overall pick in 2022, Treylon Burks, who missed his first two seasons due to injury, has only one touchdown reception.
tense ending Chig Okonkwo of Tennessee came in second with 54 receptions for 528 yards.
Boyd gives Callahan another option to repurpose an offense that finished 29th in the NFL with an average of just 180.4 yards per game.
