NMMS Scholarship 2023: The Office of the Directorate of Government Examinations started the registrations for the Telangana National Means-cum-merit Scholarship (NMMS) scheme today, October 03, 2023. Interested candidates can check their eligibility and apply for the scholarship scheme directly from the official website at bse.telangana.gov.in.
The Telangana NMMS 2023 registration will be open till October 13. The last date for submission of printed copies of online registered application forms and NR (two copies) and fee receipt is October 16, 2023. The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination for class 8th will be conducted on December 10, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Telugu/ Hindi/ Urdu/ English at all Revenue Divisional Head Quarters of all 33 districts in the state.
The main objective of this scheme is to award scholarships to the economically poor meritious students studying in Government schools to arrest dropouts in Class 8 and to encourage them to continue their studies till Class 12.
Eligibility Criteria
• The candidates must have scored at least 55% marks, in the case of SC/ST 50% or equivalent grade for all categories in class 7th examination studies during the year 2022-23.
• Students studying in the ZP/ Local Body/ Government/ Government aided schools/ Model schools which have no residential facility can apply.
• Candidates whose parental annual income is below Rs. 3,50,000/- from all sources are eligible to apply.
How to apply for the Telangana NMMS Scholarship?
Step 1: Visit the official website of NMMS at bse.telangana.gov.in
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link “NMMSE Online Application Receiving -2023-24”
Step 3: You will be redirected to the NMMS registration form
Step 4: Enter the School DISE code and password
Step 5: Fill out the application form and upload the required documents
Step 6: Pay the application fee and submit the form
Step 7: Download and take a printout of the application form for future reference

Examination Fee
The examination fee for OC/BC students is Rs. 100, whereas the fee for SC/ST/PH is Rs. 50.
Pattern of Examination
Mental Ability Test (MAT) – 90 marks multiple choice questions.
Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) – 90 marks covering sciences, mathematics and social sciences of class VII & VIII. Each question carries one mark. Time is one minute for one question.
Qualifying Percentage
The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40% and in the case of SC/ST students, this cut-off will be 32%.
Selection will be made as per the merit subject to district-wise and community-wise quotas allotted as per norms issued by MHRD New Delhi.
