Soccer-Turkish Federation Investigates Match-fixing Allegations In Third-tier Game

ANKARA: According to the state-run Anadolu Agency on Monday, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has opened an inquiry into claims of match-fixing in a third-tier encounter.

The TFF 2. Lig match on Sunday ended in a 0-0 draw between Ankaraspor and Nazilli Belediyespor, ensuring that the former advanced to the playoffs while the latter avoided relegation.
Ankaraspor had two corners and Nazillispor had none during the encounter; there were no shots. Red or yellow cards were not displayed.
Sahin Kaya, the president of Nazilli Belediyespor, refuted claims that his club fixed games, claiming that they played a hard game.

We only needed one point to secure our spot in the league. “In a challenging away game against Ankaraspor, our players managed to secure one point,” Kaya stated.
