Greater Noida : Greater Noida continues to battle severe civic negligence as sewer lines across the city have remained either broken or overflowing for the past 18 months. Near the P3 roundabout, a sewer line has reportedly been damaged for over one and a half years, with no effective repair or resolution by the authorities.

Across various sectors and townships of the city, daily sewer overflow has reached alarming levels—with nearly 50-60 MLD (million litres per day) of untreated wastewater gushing out from residential areas. Shockingly, over 40% of this wastewater ends up on roads and streets, leading to foul smells, unhygienic surroundings, and rising health risks.

Residents, especially children and the elderly, are falling ill due to constant exposure to contaminated water. Additionally, sewer pipelines are reportedly collapsing near city intersections, creating dangerous sinkholes. Yet, the sewer department’s contractors have failed to take corrective action.

Civic activist Harendra Bhati has questioned the continued apathy of the Greater Noida Authority.

Why are the officials turning a blind eye to such a major public health hazard? and how long before this problem is resolved
