Greater Noida West : A serious incident of theft was reported at Golf Homes and Kingswood Society after an unidentified person broke into Flat No. J-9/1704 during the night of February 4–5. The incident has raised serious concerns over the effectiveness of the society’s security arrangements despite the round-the-clock deployment of a private security agency. The affected flat was under interior decoration and final finishing work and the family had not shifted in yet. During the burglary, pipes and expensive bathroom fittings and toiletries were stolen. Residents believe this was a well-planned and targeted theft, clearly indicating a premeditated and organised act rather than a random incident.
‘Complete failure of the security system’– Residents
According to the resident, the burglary occurred even though the society claims to have 24×7 security services in place and residents regularly pay maintenance and security charges. The incident has been termed a complete failure of the security system and gross negligence on the part of the security agency.

Allegations of irresponsible conduct by a security agency
The situation became more disturbing when the security agency’s manager allegedly accused a contractor or labourer working inside the flat without conducting any proper investigation. Residents have called this action irresponsible and an attempt to divert attention from the agency’s own failure.
Doubt of an external intruder
The matter gained further seriousness after the resident of the neighbouring Flat No. J-9/1702 reportedly gave a written and verbal statement stating that their flat was locked from the outside on the same night. This clearly indicates the involvement of an external intruder. Despite this, the security agency allegedly ignored this crucial information and continued to place blame on workers without evidence.
No fair enquiry
Residents allege that the security agency has neither conducted a fair inquiry nor shown willingness to accept responsibility for the lapse.
Questions raised on safety in a gated society
Residents have questioned the very purpose of paying maintenance and security charges if homes are not safe even within a gated society. They have demanded that the security agency take full responsibility for the theft and compensate for the stolen items.
An FIR is being filed in connection with the incident. The resident has also formally demanded action from the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) and the estate management.
Key demands raised
- Strict action against the security agency
- Fixing the accountability of the guards and supervisors on duty
- Immediate and impartial review of CCTV footage, night patrolling records and entry-exit logs
- Stopping the practice of defaming labourers or contractors without proof
Appeal to residents
Residents have been urged to remain alert about their personal safety and report any suspicious activity immediately. They have also been asked to collectively pressure the AOA to ensure such incidents do not recur.
Today it has happened in one flat, tomorrow it could happen with any resident. This is not an individual issue but a collective concern of the entire society.
Sunil Tomar, Victim, Resident
Residents have called for unity and strong action to ensure accountability and restore trust in the society’s security system.
