Greater Noida West: Residents of Sector 3, Greater Noida West, have expressed growing frustration over the deteriorating civic conditions in their neighbourhood, alleging that essential maintenance work has come to a standstill. From irregular sweeping to non-functional streetlights, multiple unattended complaints have raised concerns about discomfort and safety among locals.
Sweeping is done once in 15–20 days. Residents describe “complete neglect”
According to residents of B Block, the sweeping of internal roads occurs only once every 15–20 days, despite the requirement for weekly cleaning. The lack of routine sanitation has led to visible dust accumulation, litter, and unhygienic surroundings.
Residents say that even after raising repeated complaints, “not a single consistent cleaning effort is visible“
Grass overgrowth and poor upkeep of green areas
Public green belts and parks across the sector have been left unattended, with grass growing knee-high in several patches. This neglect is not only affecting the aesthetics of the area but also encouraging mosquito breeding, increasing the risk of seasonal illnesses.
Drains uncleaned for three months, Stagnant water causing foul smell
Perhaps the most critical issue is the drainage system, which residents say has not been cleaned for the past three months. Stagnant, dirty water in the drains has created a persistent foul smell that spreads across the lanes.
If these drains are not cleaned soon, it could lead to serious health problems. Children and elderly people are most vulnerable.
